Helpful information
(As above)
Pre-Recording
Themes for our conversation
The role of blackness in your career journey thus far
The most formative experiences/lessons that you have learned from
The relationship between Black identity and gender identity and any advancements or setbacks as a result*
The biggest or most memorable ‘cock-up’ or ‘near miss’ of your career*
Navigating taking up space to feel comfortable in your blackness across your career*
The specific role played in the ecosystem of challenging anti-black racism within/through education
The reflections do you have for others
*These are the central pillars of the conversation
A few useful things to add:
I want to look it at it more as just a chat rather than an interview and so i'm hoping to colour in bits and not leave you hanging.
Prep work helps - especially if theres a particular story you want to tell to exemplify or illustrate a point.
I don't see you representing anyone beyond yourself, (though it might be that it taps into wider psyche and thought from other who similarly identify)
If you feel that there’s anyone that could be affected by what you say, feel free to show them the questions and what you might talk about that might involve them… especially if it’s had an impact on your own thought process as a result.
